Connor opened the door to a soot covered Ryan. 

 

"My flat burned down."

 

"Oh no! What happened?"

 

"The old lady in the flat beneath me left the gas on and the whole place went up in flames when she lit a cigarette."

 

"That's horrible! Is she ok?"

 

"A little singed but fine. Our building burnt down though."

 

"You can stay here. I'm sure Abby won't mind."

 

"Thanks Connor. Can I have a beer?"

 

"Sure. Why don't you go take a shower and I'll order some take out."

 

Abby came home and seconded Connor's invite once she heard about the fire.
