A/N: For P100 prompt 781: A Herd of Sauropods. Part of my Cry Wolf ‘verse (#10).
Helen watched me as if she was the predator and I, the prey. I was probably as curious about her as she was about me and saw little harm in indulging said curiosity. “How have they been treating you?”
“Do you care?” I tilted my head at her challenge and she subsided. “Fine. Are you homesick?”
“Am I what?” Not my smoothest reply, but I hadn’t expected that question.
“I heard the latest anomaly was a herd of sauropods… well, assuming they still exist in your world…”
Ah, still fishing for information. “We’re hunters, Dr Cutter, we preserve our environment.”
