Short Summary: Her POV on a romantic evening.

The ‘candles’ were lit strings coiled up in cups filled with oil from a bird or pterosaur.
How had he done this?
The table was a broad flat boulder that’d been strenuously polished and cleaned til it shone.
We haven’t been here that long, surely.
The meat had been cooked medium-well and…she decided not to inquire as to just what it had been.
Overhead, the first stars were coming out, very early in the evening.
I didn’t know he felt this way.
“I’m flattered,” Claudia said to him beside her, “Captain Ryan, but –“
“Thomas.”
