The team gathered in the middle of the ARC control room. They were excited to hear what Nick had to tell them that was so important that everyone had to hear it at the same time.
Nick stepped in front of everyone and cleared his throat.
“Well, what I wanted to tell you all is that I’ll retire.”
Everybody was quiet in astonishment.
“Actually”, Nick continued, “we both will.” He pulled Claudia closer to him and smiled at her.
Connor looked puzzled. “That’s really the end of an era.
Abby squeezed Connor’s hand. “But also the beginning of something new.”
