James Lester added his last signature, exchanged pleasantries with his solicitor and made his exit as soon as possible.
Hid divorce was finalised and even though they both agreed it was for the best and were working on remaining friends, it still hurt.
Ryan was waiting for him, having insisted on coming despite Lester's protests.
"All done?"
Lester nodded, his throat tight.
"Right then, I think dinner and a drink or two is what you need."
"I'd rather be alone."
"Not an option."
"How many times to I have to tell you I don't need a keeper?"
"Until I'm convinced."
