He had noticed. She probably thought that he hadn’t, for her words previously still rung in his ears: ‘For someone really smart you can be amazingly thick sometimes....’

 

How could he not notice the movement of her hand and as he glanced down saw it reaching out for his, before thinking better of it at the last moment.

 

If only he had the courage, he should have reached out, strong and sure for her hand grasping it tightly, telling her, reassuring her that he felt the same way.

 

But he didn’t, he was Connor Temple, he didn’t notice these things.
