Why was she the difference between this timeline and his own.
He felt the loss of what if, felt like they were just getting started together.
She kissed him just before it all went to hell.
He didn't just mourn their possible relationship, he mourned her as a friend.
He missed the little things that made her special.
Her determination.
Her courage.
Her smile.
The way she would roll her eyes at Lester when he wasn't looking.
He just missed her.
