Title: In the mid-Omegazoic.
Rating: PG
warning: Biblical passage (one line)
Pairings: None.
Characters: Helen, Ryan.
Spoilers: none.
Genre: drabble.
Word Count: 200.
Disclaimer: not mine! I own none of them.
Short Summary: In the mid Omegazoic, they plot.
--------------------------
“They’re buying it?” he asked, sitting behind a pebble, facing Helen; the both of them on the broad broached back of a Penultimate, here in the Omegazoic Era – the last habitable period in Earth’s history.
Helen gave one of her trademark nods, one both grim and amused without either losing much in the sharing. “Hook, line, and sinker, as the Americans phrase it.” A fitting phrase, as they sat atop the final evolution of the crocodile. ‘Can you hook Leviathan?’ he recalled the passage; this project he and she were engaged in, was going to do essentially that. “Honestly, every time I think Nick (at least) is about to add everything up, he doesn’t.
“Even Leek hasn’t put the pieces together.”
He *tsk*ed, and they small-talked until her appointed hour, whence she jumped through the Anomaly to make sure Abby, Connor, and Nick survived the Neozoic Era.
It’s a pity she has to be the one taking the flak, Tom Ryan mused, looking at his reflection in the knife blade. But this won’t work if I play my hand – show myself – too soon. I’m fortunate Helen’s understanding of how it has to be.
I just owe her one, is all.

The End.
