A/N: I had an idea which seemed good in my head but not quite how i wanted it now i've written it down. Ah well, here it goes:

Nick Cutter knows that things in life are often too good to be true, and in these situations it likes to laugh at you. He’d just sat down with a steaming mug of tea and a plate of toast, and was just about to take a much awaited bite when his phone rang and summoned him to more pressing matters of prehistoric creatures and holes in time.

 

Later that day just after they had narrowly missed the jaws of an angry utahraptor Connor commented ‘Good job we don’t get that tetchy if we miss breakfast isn’t it?’ Nick just smiled.
