Connor watched his lover, frowning. Becker had been on edge all evening, jumping at every sound, almost whimpering when light filled the darkened room.

"Hil, are you okay?"

"F...Fine," Becker said.

"Only, I'm pretty sure you've killed the remote..."

Becker dropped the remote in his hand, startled to see half the buttons mashed into their sockets.

"I... don't like thunder and lightning."

"Oh," Connor said. "Astraphobia."

"Dad always said I'd grow out of it but I..." Becker murmured, embarrassed.

Connor nodded, wrapping an arm around his lover. "I'll protect you."

Becker chuckled mirthlessly, but leaned into the embrace. "Thanks Conn."

this was very sweet...at first, I thought it was Connor who needed protection so it was a very nice surprise. Poor,adorable Becker, any volunteer for make him feel better? hands up!
