April’s Demise

The task was simple.  Drive a wedge between the geek and his girl.  She’d done it before.  How hard could it be?

She thought she could pull it off.  But when she caught them shagging in his off-limit office for the fifth time in a week, she started to doubt it would work.

What did that little blonde minx have that she didn’t?

Was she really seeing honest to god true love?  No, it didn’t exist, wasn’t possible.

April looked back and shook her head.  Connor was still a man, and therefore weak. Her mission would succeed in the end.

is it ignorance if she doesn't know? (who would have told her about Caroline? or about Jack?)

Perhaps arrogance would be a better word. Thinking she was dealing with average people, an average couple that could easily be pulled apart with little more than a dropped suggestion or a seed of doubt. I was referring more to their time in the Cretaceous, the mental/emotional trials as well as the physical that created a bond unlike anything that most would ever experience. What's a conniving witch compared to facing down monsters and nightmares on a daily basis?
