The hominins treat Danny rather like an eccentric cousin who lives in their guest house.
Decidedly different, but basically harmless.
From above Danny envies them.
They have everything because they have family.
Near sunset a female lumbers close to the rock-pool where Danny gathers water.
Deep-brown eyes glance warily toward him as she grasps a conch shell in her stubby fingers.
Putting it to her mouth, she makes a grunting sound, then a whistle.
Irresistibly, Danny bursts into laughter.
“Telephone” Danny chortles.
His smile is dazzling.
Her lips form an answering grin.
He’s kind of cute, if a bit hairless……..
