He’s a little confused when he first sees her.

In this time.

At this place.

It’s so different from the last occasion they were together.

He smiles uncertainly and takes a tentative step toward her.

Then she too smiles in greeting – that gentle, beautiful smile from the heart that’s weakened his knees since he was twenty.

So it’s all going to be alright.

Going to be wonderful.

He’s with her again.

Yet, surely that’s apple blossom floating like perfumed gossamer overhead,

Poppies at her feet……..

Miracles unfurling everywhere.

“Welcome home my love,” whispers Matt’s mother

And Gideon takes her hand.
