Title: Foresight
Word Count: (100)
Rating: Gen
Challenge: #97 - Extinction
Characters/Pairing: Nick Cutter, Claudia Brown
Warnings: None
Authors Notes: Dodos unexpectedly escaping out of an anomaly lead Nick and Claudia a merry dance
Nick fell backwards as another dodo skidded between his legs, and Claudia reached to help him up. Their preoccupation let three more slip past and set off rolling beak over feet down the hill.
“Damn!”
They looked down at the untidy heap of dodos at the bottom, all scrambling to stand. One made it upright and looked back, head cocked to one side.
“Do you think they’ve got enough foresight to realise they won’t make it?” Claudia asked.
The dodo turned and ran, headlong into the others.
“If they have, it’s not going to stop them from trying,” Nick replied.
