‘I thought you said he was coping.’ She looked away from Nick to Lester

‘He is?’ Lester looked at her sceptically

‘Oh yes, of course he is just look at his controlled, cheery manner.’ Jenny bit her lip and she looked back to the man sat looking blankly at the papers on his desk, he hadn’t shaved for days and whenever he spoke it was with a dull mechanical tone that was far from the man she knew. Lester sighed

‘Well he’s no use to anyone now, not in that state.’ He turned to her ‘you know what to do.’
