for 'humility' - "Crossword"
---------------------------
Title: Crossword.
For Primeval100’s challenge of “Humility”
Fandom: Primeval,
Rating: PG
104 words.
Spoilers: none.
Short Summary: Nick and Helen, doing the crosswords.
Author’s note: I know there are crossword puzzles in the UK because Ben Harper (of ‘My Family’) does them. ;) :P :D
Disclaimer: I own none of the characters
-------------------------------
“Fourteen down – the backbone, five let-“
“Spine.”
“Fifteen down – a-“
“Hammock.”
Nick looked up from his newspaper. “I know you’re trying to help, Helen, but could you at least let me do the crossword in peace?”
In response, Helen pulled a folded piece of paper from her back pocket. “I suppose that means you won’t want this?”
He looked at the paper, then at her innocent smiling face, and back at the paper. “Are those the answers?
“They are, aren’t they? Where did you get them?”
“Part of humility is knowing when not to answer.”
“Humility, eh? What’s that, six across?”
“Nine down, actually.”
---------------------------
The End
Note: I tried ending it on ‘part of humility…’, but my Nick muse refused to let it set.
