Authors Notes: It really does get difficult to convey what you want to in 100 words sometimes. I think I manged it though.



Lester discretely held Ryan's hand where it hung slightly off the hospital bed, which for his lover was possibly the equivalent of tears and desperate hugging.

"Careful James, you're in danger of being soppy."

Lester raised a brow haughtily. "I have no idea what you mean."

"You aren't about to make a passionate declaration of your feelings and explain how you couldn't possibly cope if you had lost me?"

"Hardly. I couldn't cope with the extra paperwork and interviews for a replacement though."

Lester's stricken expression didn't fade, even as he snarked back.

Ryan squeezed his hand. "I'm still here."
