Title: Smoke and Mirrors

Summary:  His love for her is unrequited, but he doesn't want it to be forever.
Notes: My first ever drabble, so that's why it's so rubbish and over 100 words. Oh well!

“Abby, I, I know this isn’t what you want to hear, and this isn’t the right place to say it, that’s why I’m going to keep it short.”

 

Brushing back his hair slightly as he spoke, Connor smiled.

 

“Ever since I met you, I loved you, really. Really, I did, and I know it’s going to sound strange, but you know I have, I’ve made it so public and er…”

 

He struggled, swallowing hard, thinking for the right words to say.

 

“Yeah… I love you, that’s pretty much it.”

 

And as he stepped backwards a little, he looked at himself in the mirror and the door behind him opened, Abby stepping through followed by a pleased looking Stephen.

 

Connor blinked. “Of course…”
