“There’s no creepy story that would freak me out,” Stephen announced convincingly.

The others started to laugh and giggle.

“What? Do you think I’m just bragging? Try me.” He grinned and crossed his arms in front of him. He waited.

“Well then,” Connor started, “let the fun begin.”

When Connor finished his story, everybody stared at Stephen then. Nick and Claudia stood there with their mouths open and Abby tried not to burst into a laugh again. – Stephen was paler than they had ever seen him!

Connor stepped closer and whispered into Stephen’s ear, “Have a good night’s sleep tonight.”
