“Who took that picture?” Sam asked his father.

Nick took the picture frame his son handed him and looked at himself and Claudia. Sweet memories washed over him and he smiled.

“You’ll laugh, but it was you. You were four years old and already then, you knew you wanted to be a photographer.”

Sam laughed indeed and took the picture back to look at it again.

“I almost don’t remember her,” he said then, sadly. “It’s been over twenty years but I still miss her.”

Nick sighed heavily. He went to the window and looked over the ocean. “Every day.”
