Summary : Nick asks Stephen to do some check on Lester

Nick Cutter waited until everyone was gone, except Stephen. Making sure no else was around, Nick leaned against a door jam. “Stephen, I'm going to ask you to do something for me.”

“What would that be?” asked Stephen, as he put some stuff away.

“You are better on the computer than I am,” Nick said. “I want you to check up on Lester for me.”

Looking up at Cutter, Stephen said, “Connor is better at it than I am, Nick.”

“I don't want Connor to do it, he might take it all wrong,” Nick said.

Summary : Stephen goes snooping on Lester.

As soon as Lester let everyone go, Stephen went straight home. He turned on his computer and went to get into the shower. After a quick shower, he sat down at the computer and googled Lester. He wasn't finding much and was about to give up when he found a link. It had been about Lester's family being old and, somehow, connected to the Queen.

Next thing Stephen knew, he was looking at some old paintings of Lester's family and a couple of old pictures. All of the men in the shots looked like James Peregrine Lester, to a T.

Summary : Lester finds out Stephen was checking on him.

Lester had a long life as a vampire. If he spent more time with these people, he was going to have to say something about why he didn't change; he never got any older, while everyone else did.

He sat himself down at his desk and turned on his computer. The machine sounded an alarm, so Lester checked to see what it was about, though he knew it was one of two things: Someone checking up on him or an anomaly. He was praying it was an anomaly.

He found that Stephen had been checking up on him. This was bad.
