"I knew Ryan," Becker makes the confession softly, head bowed, tone tentative.

If he'd looked, he'd have seen Lester nod, seen the knowing look. Lester knew before Becker even stepped foot in the ARC.

It hadn't mattered.

Lester was still grieving. Had no intentions of getting involved again with anyone. Let alone, Becker.

Maybe it was ironic, he thought. In the end. Them.

"I know," Lester finally said the words aloud, for Becker's ears and received a confused look from hazel eyes. "I like to think he'd approve."

Becker's shoulders sagged in relief, as he smiled weakly. "Yeah. Me too."
