It had taken some effort to get used to this time when he first came here. But right this moment, Matt thought, was maybe the strangest of all.

He had worked so hard trying to find a way to change the future, and now he was so close, he could almost grasp it with his bare hands. He needed to start realizing that he was about to change his whole life.

Would the events he triggered be an impact on his entire existence? Would he be born even?

It didn’t matter. He was trained to die so others could live.
