Authors Notes: Written for Primeval100 Challenge 67, Picture Prompt. Many thanks to fredbassett for the use of her Ryan backstory and family - Ryan's ex-wife and daughter live in the Lake District, scene of the picture prompt.

He can collect his daughter at noon. Finally, a contact order allowing him a whole week with her.

He is scared out of his mind.

He arrives in the area deliberately early. A walk first, to settle the nerves. Something to occupy the morning. Skiddaw via White Hause to lift the respiration rate and expend the nervous energy that threatens to undo him when he has to face them. Daughter, mother and the new man.

From White Hause he can see his goal, and wonders if he will make it.

He can also see Great Cockup, and it seems appropriate.

I'm sure you know of course that Great Cockup is actually the name of a hill in the Lake District. And of course a cock up is slang for doing something badly, making a mess of something, something gone wrong.
