Is it Meant to Look Like That?

Connor lay as still as possible. His entire being ached as his mind reconnected with his body.

“Is it meant to look like that?” he heard Ryan ask. “Does this mean he’s going to wake up?”

“I dare say it does.” Connor guessed that was the doctor, he sounded incredibly relieved.

Someone was leaning over him, blocking the light, breathing near him.

“Wake up, Connor. It’s Ryan. Open your eyes.”

Connor’s eyes opened. He stared into Ryan’s eyes, searching for the truth of the other Ryan’s words, did he, could he, love him? Confusion clouded Ryan’s expression. He wasn’t sure.
