Title: Pomp and Circumstance
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Challenge: 271, Worst Day Ever
Characters/Pairing: Lester, Philip
Warnings: None
Spoilers: Character from series 4 and 5
Authors Notes: *Included at the end.
Lester stood tall, not a wrinkle on his best suit in sight nor a hair out of place. He waited patiently, his face stoic as the Queen was escorted into the ballroom.
The man stepped forward as the equerry heralded his various achievements. He knelt down on the stool, bowing his head before Her Majesty placed the blade on first his right then left shoulder.
As the equerry announced, “Arise, Sir Philip Burton,” Lester couldn’t help releasing a quiet groan. His expression soured more as he watched Philip pose for photos and shake hands with various dignitaries.
Worst day ever.
*I only did brief research on modern knighthood ceremonies, so I apologize for any inaccuracies.
