---------------------------
Title: “When In Usk…”
Challenge: Primeval100’s “Friends” challenge.
Rating: PG-15
Warnings: Mentions a complication with this pairing.
Pairings: Abby/Lester
Characters: Abby, Connor
Spoilers: season 1.
Genre: drabble.
Word Count: 100 (if you count “Wales”)
Disclaimer: None of them are mine. Heck, even the Silurian sediments of Wales are real.
Author’s question: anybody know why its called “Senni Street? I haven’t a clue.
Short Summary: While searching for an escapee from the past, Connor gives Abby grief.
-------------------------------
WALES:
Thanks to all the rain, the river Senni Street was deeper than it’d been in a while – and that made it tough to find the Silurian escapee that was the team’s present target.
“He’s twice your age,” Connor said to Abby, retreading the same ground, “if not moreso. I can barely picture him havin’ a pint with friends – he have any friends? – much less…” and shuddered theatrically.
“He’s a sweet-hearted man,” Abby said in James’ defense. “And age has never been a problem where my family’s concerned.”
“Oh?”
In answer, Abby pointed a thumb in the direction of Usk.
--------------------------
The End
Author’s note: Alfred Russel Wallace, born in Usk, Wales, married Annie Mitton who was 23 years his junior. Now, is Abby descended from the Wallaces or the Mittons?...my muse didn’t say.
