It’s a sight for sore eyes – or smitten ones like Sarah’s.
Danny Quinn at midnight.
Perched by the fridge.
A lap full of leftovers.
A face smeared with cream and gravy.
Seeing her, Danny winks.
“What I missed most during my time away……….you of course sweetheart……….but your cooking Sarah………..lock a man in heaven and throw away the key………..mmmmmm………..”
Sarah smiles.
Yes, he has a lot of nuts and berries to make up for, but so many lonely nights as well.
She holds out her hand and, grinning, Danny pulls her close.
The leftovers will still be there in the morning………
