A/N: Written for challenge 154 – past challenges, using challenges "42 - The Writer's Challenge (write a genre/character you don't normally)" and "88 - Hunger". The genre I went for was horror. No it’s not vampires, it’s ZOMBIES! Can I get a HELL YES? No? Never mind then.



It was sickening to watch. Sarah was shovelling food into her mouth, barely stopping to chew, unidentifiable juices running down her chin.

Jenny stared from behind the safety of the one-way glass, absent-mindedly scratching at the bandage on her hand from where Sarah had bitten her earlier.

They didn’t know what was causing Sarah’s ravenous hunger, the doctors and scientists couldn’t find any trace of a virus or parasite.

Suddenly Sarah looked up, her eyes wide and bloodshot, staring straight at Jenny, though she knew she couldn’t see her through the glass.

Jenny prayed they would find a cure soon.




Bright. Sharp. Cold. Hungry, so hungry.

Something I was supposed to be doing? But who am I? I had a name. What was it?

It doesn’t matter anymore. Nothing matters. Nothing but the hunger.

I keep eating but it never goes away. Nothing I eat has any taste, the food turns to ash in my mouth.

All but one thing. Her. When I tasted her blood and flesh it filled my body with life, for a moment I could almost remember who I was.

But they’ve locked me away, and every second I lose more of myself to the hunger.

HELL YES! Very creepy, VERY zombie. I love that you did one from Zombie!Sarah POV. The horror genre doesn't have enough of that.
